This is one of the most bizarre verses of the Quran and is broadly memorized and displayed from the Islamic world. It is recited to ward off bad spirits Āyat al-Kursī (Arabic: آيَة الْكُرْسِي, ʾĀyat al-Kursī) commonly known in English as The Throne Verse is the 255th verse of the 2nd surah of this Quran, Al-Baqarah. The verse speaks about how nobody and nothing is considered to be comparable to Allah.
Translation in English
Allah! There is no deity
but Him, the Alive, the Eternal.
Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him.
Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth.
Who could intercede in His presence without His permission?
He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them,
while they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills.
His throne includeth the heavens and the earth,
and He is never weary of preserving them.
He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.

Hadith About Ayatul Kursi
1- Hazrat Ali (R.A) States the chief of the Ayats of the Quran Kareem is Ayatul Kursi.
2- Abu Umamah Al-Bahili (may Allah be delighted with him) reported: The Prophet (peace be upon him) explained:”The one who recites it after all the obligatory prayers, then death are the only thing preventing him from entering Paradise.” [Ibn Sunni, Ibn Hibban]
3- Abu Hurairah (R.A) Narrated: In Surah Al-Baqarah there is an ayah which is the best finest of all the ayahs of the Quran. It is never recited in a house but the Satan leaves: Ayatal Kursi. Satan does not enter the house where this verse is recited۔
4- Hazrat Ibne Masood (Radiahallahu Anhu) says that a man asked Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) to instruct him something which will benefit him. “Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) said,”Recite Ayatul Kursi, it is going to protect you, your kids, home as well as those homes surrounding your residence.”
An interesting and strange event
Abu Huraira reported that,”Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) ordered me to protect the Zakat earnings of Ramadan. Somebody came to me and began stealing of this foodstuff. I grabbed him and said,”I’ll take you to Messenger of Allah ! “That person said (to Abu Huraira),”Please don’t take me to Allah’s Apostle and I’ll tell you a couple of words by which Allah will benefit you. When you visit your bed, recite Ayatul Kursi, then there will be a guard from Allah that will protect you all night , and Satan won’t be able to come near you until dawn.” When the Prophet heard the story he said (to me),”He (who came to you during the night) told you the truth although he’s a liar, and it was Satan.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
